Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia
Your guide and driver will meet you at your accommodation or at the airport, whichever is most convenient, and you are taken on a city sightseeing tour of Ulaanbaatar. First, you’ll visit Gandantegchilen Monastery, a monastery favored by locals as well as foreigners due to its interesting religious artifacts and tranquility. A 26m gilded statue of a Buddha (in Megjid Janrasag sum) is another feature of interest. Next, you visit the National Museum of Mongolia followed by a visit to Sukhbaatar Square and a drive to the Zaisan Memorial for a panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar.

Day 2: Ugii Lake
Start the countryside tour to Ugii Lake. Today we will travel with a picnic lunch and drive 340 km on paved roads. Leave the paved roads and have 20 km custom biking on rough roads and prepare for the next days’ adventures.

Day 3: Ride along the Tamir River Valley
This morning, we will leave the lake behind us and the biking continues 40-45 km on rough roads along the Tamir River Valley.

Day 4: Biking continues along the Tamir River to Ikh Tamir
The landscapes become lush green with lots of nomads' gers and their peacefully grazing animals in the open valleys. On the way, we can visit nomad families of the isolated areas if you wish. Biking distance 45 km.

Day 5: Central town Tsetserleg and south Tamir River
Today, we will explore some deer stones that date back to the Bronze Age. The biking will continue on the paved and rough roads passing Tsagaan Mountain Pass. Our next stop is Tsetserleg, a central town in Arkhangai Province. The mountain pass is an entrance to the town and is a bit steep from the northwest side. Visit an interesting local market in the town and collect some supplies. Bike 5 km to the South Tamir River and have an overnight in the tent.

Day 6: Tsenkher hot spa
Today, we will have shorter, but challenging biking passing a few low passes of wooded mountains. Arrive at Tsenker hot spa at lunchtime after 22 km biking. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying an outdoor hot spa bath.

Day 7: Tsenkher River
The scenery becomes more beautiful. The trails lead us along lush green valleys of the Tsenkher River among wooded mountains. We will cross a river by the vehicle and several streams on our bike. Tented camping near the Tsenker River after 45-50 km biking.

Day 8: Shiveet Ulaan Mountain
Our biking continues through the picturesque valley of the mountains. The trails become bumpier with small streams at the end of the biking. Today, we will have an overnight at the foothill of Shiveet Ulaan Mountain.

Day 9: Hiking to Tovhon Monastery and the biking continues
Tovhon Monastery was built on the rocky top of the 2312m forest-covered mountain as a creation house and a meditation center. Hiking distance to Tovhon Monastery is 4.5 to 5 km in the two ways. See awe-inspiring views of the Orkhon River Valley and visit the Tovhon Monastery. Hike back the camping area and have lunch. Continue 40 km biking down to the Orkhon River and overnight in the tent near the Orkhon River.

Day 10: Biking to Kharkhorin
The biking continues along the Orkhon River Valley heading Kharkhorin. The scenery becomes less green. Even though, with more nomads and traffic. Arrive at Kharkhorin around 2 pm. Have lunch and be refreshed from the adventures. In the afternoon, we will visit ancient monastery Erdenezuu and the Kharkhorum Museum displays items left from the 13th-century capital city Kharakhorum. Kharkhorin, formerly known as Kharakhorum, once was the capital of Genghis Khaan's Great Mongol Empire in the 13th-century. After the move of Mongolian capital to Beijing, and the fall of the Empire, Kharakorum was abandoned and then destroyed by Min soldiers in 1388. Today, in the vast valley of the Orkhon River, awe-inspiring ancient monastery Erdenezuu coexists with modern town Kharkhorin.

Day 11: Drive to Ulaanbaatar
Today is the last day you spend in the beautiful countryside of Mongolia. Biking on the way is optional. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar late afternoon and check-in the hotel.
