The tour takes place at two beautiful national parks: Gorkhi Terelj National Park and Khan Khentii National Park. Indeed, Khan Khentii is some of the most beautiful and pristine areas not many people travel. Visiting nomad families and seeing the giant statue of Genghis Khaan are other highlights of the tour.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and city tour
Your guide and driver meet you at the airport/railway station. Transfer to a tourist class 3* hotel in the downtown. Next, start a city sightseeing tour. First, we will visit Gandantegchilen Monastery. The monastery is a favored place for locals as well as foreigners due to its interesting religious artifacts and peacefulness. A 26 m gilded statue of a Buddha (in Megjid Janrasag temple) is another thing of interest. Next, visit the National Museum of Mongolia, the central square and attend Mongolian traditional cultural performance. The performance is one of the most interesting things in Ulaanbaatar with its colorful dances, the play of horse-headed fiddle, contortion, throat singing, and traditional songs.

Day 2: Gorkhi Terelj national park and Khan Khentii Wilderness area
Meet at your hotel and drive to the beautiful Khan Khentii wilderness area via Terelj National Park. Along the way to the Terelj National Park, we stop at an ovoo, a local worshipping place and see the legendary Turtle Rock. Meet our horses and the horse wrangler who will be following us during the several day horse riding. Start riding adventures. Today, we will have an overnight in a tent near Khurkh Mountain.

Day 3: Horse riding along beautiful Baruun Bayan River Valley
The horse riding trip continues along the Baruun Bayan River Valley. The green valley is the main pastureland of nomads. The valley is filled with nomads' Gers and their countless animals such as horses, sheep, goats, and cattle including yaks. Tented camping near the Bayan River and enjoy a bonfire.

Day 4: Continue the riding to Princess Temple
Our riding continues to Gunj/Princess Temple among Khan Khentii Mountains. Today, we ride through mountains and along trails of a forest. The temple was built in honor of a Manchu princess who married Mongolian nobleman Dondovdorj in 1699. The communists destroyed the temple 1930s, but the surrounding nature of the temple remained pristine as the area is not accessible by vehicles.

Day 5: Last day of the riding
Today we will ride down the Baruun Bayan River Valley and check in a ger camp in the vicinity of Genghis Statue. It is time to say goodbye to the equestrian and the horses.

Day 6: Visit Genghis statue and drive to Ulaanbaatar
Visit the statue complex and see the surrounding areas while standing on the mane of the statue horse. This 40 m tall statue is the biggest statue of an equestrian in the world and was built in a historical area. Drive to Ulaanbaatar and check in a hotel. Free time.

Is Stunning Mongolia Horse Riding Trip suitable for you?
Stunning Mongolia Horse Riding Trip takes place in two beautiful national parks; Gorkhi Terelj National Park and Khan Khentii National Park. We will drive through Gorkhi Terelj National Park rather than ride horses. Khan Khentii National Park is our main site of the horse riding. The national park is the closest wilderness area accessible not driving too far. Therefore, we do not need to drive long, and you will be in an entirely different environment just after 2 hours of driving. The tour is suitable for both beginners and advanced riders. If you are not a horseback adventurer, but traveling with your family or friends like this kind of activity. No worries. You can ride the horses at your pace with the help of a local equestrian. If long or fast riding is not your interest, you can enjoy some hiking and sit in your support vehicle which follows you every day. We planned the tour with a maximum of 25 to 30 km riding a day. Even though you can have your optional riding after settling the camp if the 25 to 30 km is not enough for you. Alternatively, we could customize the itinerary shortening the riding distance or change the terrains, etc. However, we may require some horse-riding abilities for your safety, comfort, and favor of you and the other tour members if you join in a group tour departure. Local riding techniques, the best ways to treat Mongol horses and their character etc. will be taught at the beginning of the tour.
Meals
Tour meals are included according to the itinerary. In the countryside, ger camps serve occasional European but mainly Mongolian meals. Meat is the main ingredient for meals and is served for lunch and dinner along with vegetables, salads, and soups. There will be more meat in traditional Mongolian meals. A typical breakfast is tea or coffee, bread, jam, butter, eggs and sausage. There are some cookies, cheese, cereals, pancakes and more at some of the ger camps for breakfast. For lunch, meals include salads, Mongolian soups and a main course (pasta, rice, vegetables, beef/mutton/chicken/fish near lakes/rivers), and dessert and tea. Salads, a main course, a dessert, and tea will be served for dinner. With nomads, you will try authentic Mongolian meals. Different types of meals offered simultaneously are not customary in Mongolian tradition. Accommodation
Mongolian tourism depends highly on the season, and seasonal accommodation ger camps are fully open between 15 May and 25 September. It could be earlier or late. However, we will be traveling in central Mongolia and most ger camps start earlier and close late autumn. Nomad family home stays are available if you are a keen traveler and would like to discover more about the nomadic life. The company will provide good quality camping gear. Bringing your sleeping bags suitable for as low as -10°C is recommended. Alternatively, we can provide sleeping bags. The tour includes 1 overnight stay in a ger camp at the end of your countryside tour. So that, you can wash and be refreshed before your arrival in the city. 3 nights in the tent among outstanding nature and 2 nights in a hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Guides
Most of our company guides are English-speaking. We also have some guides who speak German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Japanese. They are all friendly, helpful and most of them were born and grown in the countryside. Therefore, they have good knowledge about every aspect of Mongolia, good at horse riding and have at least three years or more years of guiding experience. Except for your interpreter-guide, one or more nomad men will be your equestrian depends on the riders’ number.
Transportation
Most of our tours were designed with four wheels driving Japanese or Korean vans driven by experienced, friendly and good mechanic-drivers. For bigger groups, the Russian van serves due to its capacity and load capacity. Different types of vehicles are available on request. When is the best time to take Stunning Mongolia Horse Riding Trip?
The most suitable time to take the tour is between 15 May and 15 September. The day temperature in July and the beginning of August could rise to +38°C. Therefore, consider your health issue of horse riding in July and the first half of August. On the contrary, July and the beginning of August could be the wettest. The end of August and September is the most suitable months for riding. Mongolian weather fluctuates a lot seasonally, daytime and at nights. Therefore, be ready for sudden weather changes such as hot, warm, cool, rain, and wind. The different natural phenomena sometimes happen on the same day. Weather in May and September is cold in the evening and at night. It could even snow in the mountainous areas.
